Bike for Life/Paradise Creek Bikes parade entry

Groups registered for the parade received a confirmation call this afternoon, with a special request: parade participants are asked to NOT wear a Santa costume.

Parade organizers want just the one and only official Santa to be the special feature in the parade to delight the children.

Check-in for the parade is at 6:00 in front of CJ’s (112 N. Main St.). The parade coordinator will be able to tell us our entry number and gathering location along Main Street.

The parade begins promptly at 7:00.

Join iCount 2012!

The City of Moscow is gearing up for the second annual bicyclist and pedestrian count to be held on Thursday, September 13.  They are still in need of volunteers to count 18 sites both morning (7 – 9 am) and afternoon (4 – 6 pm).

I would like to encourage you and your friends to volunteer – it only takes a couple of hours and it’s very easy to do!  iCount is designed to show our community the impact of bicycle and pedestrian traffic and how those thoroughfares and pathways impact active living.  So the more counters we have, the more data we can collect and the more useful the results will be!

Register to count at http://www.ci.moscow.id.us/projects/icount.aspx.

There will be a training for all volunteers on Wednesday, September 12th at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers. Forms and packets will be distributed at that time and attendance is very important. Please mark your calendar for this important training session and thank you for volunteering for iCount 2012!

See you at iCount!

May 19, 9:00am-noon, LATAH TRAIL BREAKFAST RIDE TO TROY, meet 9am at Old Tidyman’s.

It’s the annual Latah Trail Breakfast Ride to Troy!  The weather forecast looks perfect for a Saturday morning bike ride.  Meet up with fellow cyclists at Old Tidyman’s at 9:00am for an enjoyable ride to Troy along the Latah Trail followed by  a delicious breakfast at The Filling Station cafe (bring your wallet).  The Filling Station cafe is offering a free ice cream cone to each Breakfast Ride participant!

Please note that this year the Old Tidyman’s (NRS) parking lot is reserved for the 5K Fun Run to China.  If you need to drive to the Breakfast Ride starting point, you will need to find another location to park your vehicle such as Eastside Marketplace.
